No preparation is needed, and no experience is necessary!
The Players’ annual kickoff to our new season, the Evening of Horror & Suspense is great fun for everyone and perfect for those who want to get involved but can’t spare the time for a fully-staged play. Each year, we recreate an old-time radio studio with live sound effects and readers dramatically bringing to life classic tales perfectly designed to induce that Halloween frisson. We read from scripts, so there is no memorization; rehearsal for most participants will be once a week plus a dress rehearsal the weekend of the performances.
For our 10th Evening of Horror and Suspense, we are celebrating the show’s first decade by restaging favorite stories from the previous nine seasons. Friday October 25 will be dedicated to horror classics from the 1800s, and Saturday, October 26 will feature stories from the 1930s and 40s. Twice the stories means twice the parts! Each night will have a different cast…so you can be in one show, and go see the other! The Hyde Park Sisters are reuniting to provide musical entertainment, and Christopher Skyles once again lends his golden voice as Your Host for the Evening.
