The Hyde Park Community Players’ next general meeting will be held on June 6, 2017 at 7:00pm at Augustana Lutheran Church.
The main item on the agenda will be the election of a new Board of Directors. This happens every year, and all active members of the Players are eligible to vote. According to our bye-laws, “an active member is defined as someone who is involved, in any way, in the work of each HPCP production in a year and who buys/sells at least two advance tickets to each HPCP program of that year.” You may already be an active member!
Active members are also eligible to run for the Board. If you are interested in being on the Board, come to the meeting and nominate yourself (or, if you are feeling shy, ask someone else to nominate you). The Board is basically the governing body of the HPCP. In addition to making decisions about the future, the Board also does a lot of the advance organizing and work for the shows we put on. Board meetings happen more often than general meetings, but there are usually no more than one or two per month.
Other items on the agenda for this meeting:
- Planning for the 2017-2018 season (putting together the play selection committee)
- Ways to get involved in Twelfth Night
- Fundraising
- Theater games
- updates on various things, such as the staged reading series
There is also usually a report on the show that just finished up (Clybourne Park).
We hope to see you there!
