Show summary
In feudal Japan, a samurai is found murdered and his wife has been raped. However, as the story is recounted in criminal court, none of the testimonies about what happened resemble each other at all.  Who is telling the truth?  Is it the wild bandit or the loyal wife?  Is it the noble samurai who speaks from the grave through a medium?   With lies and fake news flying fast and furious it’s difficult to sort out fact from fiction. Come help us tell the tale and the truth!

Performances of Rashomon will take place November 10-12 and 17-19.

What to expect at auditions!
You do not need to prepare anything ahead of time. We will have sides for you to read available at auditions.

PARTS:
PRIEST, trying to make sense of the world
WIGMAKER, pessimistic and rough
WOODCUTTER
SAMURAI
WIFE
MEDIUM, channels the spirit of the dead samurai
BANDIT, boastful and slimy
DEPUTY, an officer of the law
MOTHER, comforter of the WIFE

We also need three to four MUSICIANS to be the live soundtrack: a flute player, a guitar player (or shamisen!), a person comfortable with percussion. Singers would be great, too!
