This Friday, Oct 6 at 8 pm, Augustana Church (5500 S Woodlawn), see a staged reading of Our Town, by Thornton Wilder. Dusty Trellis directs, and we perform most of Acts 1 and 3.
Thornton Wilder’s classic American play tells the story of small town at the beginning of the 20th Century. We are introduced by the Stage Manager, who speaks directly to the audience and asks us to imagine a bare stage in what was then a revolutionary theatrical technique. As he leads us along the journey from birth to beyond death, Wilder asks us to see the beauty in our everyday lives that we rarely take time to appreciate.
The 1 hour performance is followed by home baked treats and a moderated discussion. Entrance is $5, and you are welcome to use the church parking lot.
