Come enjoy a staged reading of Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor, abridged and directed by Andrea Holliday. Please Note: We’ll be at a different location than usual–see below!
Sir John Falstaff arrives in Windsor very short on money, and decides to court two wealthy married women, Mistress Ford and Mistress Page. The “merry wives” don’t want the aging, overweight Falstaff as a suitor; however, for amusement and to gain revenge for his rude assumptions, they feign interest. One of the wives, Mistress Ford, also uses the opportunity to tease her jealous husband, while the Pages argue about the right suitor for their daughter. Mistress Quickly, the suitors, the hostess of the Inn and the local priest also insert themselves to “help” in various ways to give Sir John his comeuppance.
The reading will be Friday, June 7 at 8 pm at the Sanctuary Cafe, University Church, 5655 S. University (not Augustana this time.) $5 entry fee includes 1 drink; other cafe treats are available for purchase. Stay after the reading for a moderated discussion.

Thanks, Abel–we do usually send a notice to the Herald, but they don’t always run it! Hope you will subscribe to our publicity list, as well.
