The first mainstage production of our 2019-20 season, our fall show opens on November 15.  In the vibrant underbelly of post-Katrina New Orleans, there are communities scraping to get by. At the Hummingbird Hotel, the residents celebrate the life of one of their own the only way they know how: by throwing a party! As friends gather for Miss Ruby’s living funeral, familiar faces arrive – some not so welcome. How do you forgive those you thought had abandoned you?  How do you return to a place you thought you’d left behind? As the Mardi Gras-like celebration continues into the night, the stories of the residents, their pain and struggles unfold.
