No preparation necessary.  A racially diverse cast is a priority of this production.  Friends of all genders and backgrounds are encouraged to audition.

PLOT SYNOPSIS

She Kills Monsters  is a story about Agnes Evans getting to know her recently deceased sister, Tilly, through a Dungeon and Dragons campaign Tilly wrote. Agnes is quickly sucked into the fantasy role playing game, and discovers a side of her sister she has never seen. The play is funny, at times quite moving, and chock-full of 90’s pop culture references.

The production will be staged March 13-15, 20-22.

CHARACTERS

Agnes: the older sister (30-40s, any race)
Tilly: The deceased gamer, and younger sister of Agnes (technically a high schooler, but casting will be 17-30, any race)
Chuck: The dungeon master, and friend of Tilly’s. (technically a high schooler, but casting will be 17-30, any race)
Miles: Agnes’ boyfriend (30-40, any race)
Kalliope/ Kelly: Another friend of Tilly’s who is in the fantasy and real world. (technically a high schooler, but casting will be 17-30, any race)
Lilith/ Lilly: Another friend of Tilly’s who is in the fantasy and real world. Tilly and Lilly have a romantic relationship. (technically a high schooler, but casting will be 17-30, any race)
Vera: School guidance counselor (any age, any race)
Narrator: any age, race and gender
Steve: a fairly incompetent gamer who gets defeated by every monster before our protagonists arrive. (technically a high schooler, but casting will be 17-30, any race)
Orcus/ Ronnie: A late addition to the DnD campaign, and in reality a person who was unkind to Tilly. (technically a high schooler, but casting will be 17-30, any race)
Evil Gabbi, Evil Tina, The Beholder, Farrah the Faerie: All four are antagonists of Tilly’s.
