Join us for MonteCristo2020 auditions on January 7, 2026 from 6-9pm and January 10, 2026 from 1-4pm. Auditions are held at Augustana Lutheran Church (5500 South Woodlawn Avenue).
Please prepare 32 bars of a song that demonstrates your vocal range and bring your own backing track. Also please wear clothes and shoes that you are comfortable moving in.
Performance dates are May 29-31 & June 5-7, 2026 at the Experimental Station (6100 South Blackstone Avenue)
MonteCristo2020 is an original musical based on Alexander Dumas’s novel The Count of Monte Cristo with book and lyrics by Susan Harris and music by Bill Hohnke.
Isolating in her apartment during the early months of the coronavirus pandemic, a lonely bookworm discovers Alexandre Dumas’s novel The Count of Monte Cristo. The classic novel of adventure, intrigue, and revenge comes to life around her, immersing her in an exciting new world and a story which hits surprisingly close to home. MonteCristo2020 expresses the pain of loss and isolation while celebrating the resilience of hope and the sustaining power of stories.
