Friday Staged Reading (And Singing)

#MonteCristo2020, Act 2

Friday, November 3, 8:00 pm

Augustana Lutheran Church, 5500 S. Woodlawn Avenue

The team of Harris & Hohnke return, our own soon-to-be-famous brilliant creators in the musical genre. November 3, we will workshop the second installment of an original musical in progress, #MonteCristo2020. (Most of Act 1 was performed as a staged reading in March 2022.)

In this section, Edmond is out of prison, fabulously wealthy, and looking to punish some evildoers. Reinventing himself as the Count of Monte Cristo, he travels to Paris to plot subtle and diabolical revenge against the now rich and powerful men who destroyed his happiness. Will the Count draw the beautiful Mercedes, and the innocent children of his enemies, into the abyss with them?

Music by Bill Hohnke, book & lyrics by Susan Harris. Cast includes: Sasha Austin, Paul Baker, Leslie Browne, Sam Fenno, ,Leslie Halverson, Adam Hammond, Riley Harris, Calliope Heinz, Dan Heinz, Michele Heinz, Bill Hohnke, Ryan Kacani, Aiden MacGregor, Meara MacGregor, Dorothy Parsons, Shonte Wesson Segura, Amelia Snoblin.

Based on that fabulous novel of heinous wrong and righteous revenge, The Count of Monte Cristo, by Alexandre Dumas.

Performance, homemade treats, discussion, all for $5, at the door.
