What’s the rehearsal schedule like?
Hi, Collins. Rehearsals will start soon after casting decisions are made, which will be shortly after the second audition date. The time commitment varies depending on the size of the role, and auditioners can indicate on their form any dates they’re not available or general days/times that don’t work for them. The rehearsal schedule solidifies once the director makes casting decisions and looks at everyone’s schedules. However, she will likely be able to answer this question in more detail at auditions.
Hello – are rehearsal dates available yet? Thanks!
Hi, Danielle. The rehearsal dates are not yet available because they depend on whom the director casts and what their availability is. Generally, though, rehearsals start a few days after the second audition date and become more frequent as opening night approaches. The frequency can also vary with the size of the role. Auditioners will have a chance to indicate on their form any specific dates or general days and times when they have other commitments, and the director may be able to answer this question in a bit more detail when you audition.
Do you have roles for kids? What is the age group for Tess and Woody’s characters?
Hello, this show does not have roles for kids and is probably not suitable for children under 13. The age group for Tess and Woody is college-aged, but there is flexibility so all are encouraged to audition.
Just wanted to add that while we don’t know yet what the specific roles will be for Evening of Horror and Suspense (the directors are still choosing the short plays), there will certainly be a role that is appropriate for a kid. Many kids have participated in past years and have had a good time. Those auditions are the 27th and the 30th: https://hydeparkcommunityplayers.org/2025/09/auditions-for-eohas-25/
